New Product Launch - APEX™ Bottle Top Vacuum Filtration Units

New Product Launch - APEX™ Bottle Top Vacuum Filtration Units

High-Flow Filtration for Demanding Cell Culture Workflows

The APEX™ Bottle Top Vacuum Filtration Units represent the next generation of vacuum filtration systems designed for laboratories working with viscous and high-value biological solutions. Built around the new 90 mm High Flow Foxx Velocity asymmetric PES membrane, these units deliver faster flow rates and higher throughput while maintaining sterility and sample integrity.

Engineered for efficiency, safety, and consistency, APEX™ filtration units are ideal for filtering FBS, serum-containing media, and other viscous solutions commonly used in cell culture and bioprocessing environments.

The APEX™ Bottle Top Vacuum Filtration Unit is a sterile, single-use filtration system available in 250 mL, 500 mL, and 1000 mL formats. Units are offered as complete filtration systems or as funnel-only bottle-top filters, allowing flexibility based on laboratory setup.

Each unit features the Foxx Velocity asymmetric PES membrane, which provides a large 90 mm effective filtration area. This wider membrane supports faster filtration and improved recovery while remaining low protein binding and surfactant-free, helping preserve valuable biological components.

The system uses the newly designed APEX™ Media Bottles, which include an angled shoulder to support smooth, controlled pouring and complete media transfer. Bottles are manufactured from USP Class VI PETG or Polystyrene, offering clarity, strength, and chemical compatibility.

All APEX™ units are produced in an ISO 13485 Class 7 cleanroom within an FDA-regulated facility and are gamma sterilized, ensuring consistent quality and sterility assurance. Each unit carries a five-year shelf life, supporting long-term inventory planning.

Key Features and Benefits:

Stable and Ergonomic Design

The shorter, wider bottle profile lowers the center of gravity, significantly reducing the risk of tipping under biosafety hoods. This stability helps prevent spills that can compromise experiments or lead to costly product loss in biopharmaceutical settings.

High-Performance PES Membrane

The 90 mm asymmetric PES membrane enables faster flow rates and higher throughput, reducing filtration time while maximizing recovery of cells and media components. It is especially effective for high-viscosity solutions.

Medical-Grade Manufacturing Standards

APEX™ filtration units are manufactured using USP Class VI materials in compliance with ISO 13485 medical device standards. Products are gamma sterilized and regulated for consistency and performance, supporting use in both research and pharmaceutical environments.

Hands-Free Filtration Capability

When paired with optional accessories such as a pedestal base or ring-stand cradle (sold separately), the system enables hands-free filtration with a stationary vacuum hose connection. This reduces spill risk and minimizes contamination under tissue culture hoods.

Integrated VersaCap® Technology

The VersaCap® design enhances security when handling bottles with gloved hands, ensures leak-free sealing, and provides a flat surface for labeling and identification.

Applications:

APEX™ Bottle Top Vacuum Filtration Units are well suited for:

Serum and FBS filtration

Mammalian and microbial cell culture media preparation

Filtration of viscous biological solutions

Research, academic, biotech, and pharmaceutical laboratories

Designed for Speed, Stability, and Confidence

By combining a high-flow asymmetric PES membrane, stable bottle design, and medical-grade manufacturing, the APEX™ Bottle Top Vacuum Filtration System helps laboratories reduce filtration time while protecting valuable samples. It is a dependable solution for teams that require performance, sterility, and ease of use in everyday filtration workflows.
