BioHazard Waste
Justrite’s Biohazard Waste Containers meet OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1030 for the segregation of infectious waste. Use them to store contaminated laundry as well as other regulated waste; however, not for the storage of sharps. Sturdy steel cans feature leakproof construction with foot-operated, self-closing lid. Simple, foot pedal operation opens the cover automatically to safely dispose of biohazard waste. Upon release of the pedal, the can cover closes quickly to reduce the risk of contamination. A biohazard bag is held securely around the circumference of the can top. Optional label kit #25880 complies with California Health and Safety Code 118280 requiring warning labels to be visible from all sides of the container. Kit includes three labels and instructions.
Biohazard waste containers are designed for controlled segregation and handling of regulated infectious waste in laboratory and healthcare environments. The collection includes foot-operated cans with self-closing covers in 6-gallon and 10-gallon capacities, plus a SoundGard™ cover option. The 10-gallon model uses 18-gauge cold-rolled steel, with leak-resistant construction and a pedal-operated lid for hands-free disposal. These features support foot pedal biohazard waste containers where minimizing direct contact with the lid is important.
The containers are intended for regulated waste and contaminated laundry, not sharps. **10 gallon steel biohazard waste cans** accommodate larger waste volumes, while compatible liner bags are available in 11-micron thickness and packs of 100. A separate three-label kit is also listed for biohazard identification. For facilities managing infectious materials, OSHA compliant biohazard waste containers should be selected and used according to applicable waste-handling procedures and local requirements.
