New Product - EZBio® Rigid Reservoir System

New Product - EZBio® Rigid Reservoir System

EZBio® Rigid Reservoir System: A Scalable Single-Use Solution for Controlled Fluid Management

Built for Reliability in Modern Bioprocessing

Fluid handling in bioprocessing requires control, sterility, and scalability. From feeding a TFF system to storing growth media for upstream processes, reservoirs must maintain performance under repetitive use conditions while integrating seamlessly into automated and manual setups.

The EZBio® Rigid Reservoir System from Foxx Life Sciences is engineered with these requirements in mind. It is a single-use, rigid polypropylene reservoir designed to support a wide range of bioprocessing applications without the cleaning, validation, and turnaround time associated with stainless-steel tanks.

Available in volumes ranging from 1 L to 115 L, the system supports both small-scale R&D and large-scale production environments while maintaining consistent material compatibility and sterility assurance.

The EZBio® Rigid Reservoir System is a durable, single-use container designed for the storage and transfer of buffers, cell culture media, and other bioprocess fluids. The polypropylene body maintains dimensional stability and chemical resistance under varied operating conditions, making it suitable for both ambient and controlled environments.

A key engineering advantage of this system is its VersaCap® technology, providing two to five ports with configuration options that include Mini Tri-Clamp, Maxi Tri-Clamp, and hose barb connections. These ports support simple sampling workflows as well as complex multi-line setups for filtration or automated liquid handling. Laser-marked ports improve traceability and reduce setup errors.

The reservoir also features a rigid dip tube, which maintains shape during mixing and prevents kinking. This ensures predictable flow and reliable media transfer, even when reservoirs are used with mixing rods or mounted to automated filling and filtration systems.

For process efficiency, a bottom Tri-Clamp (TC) port enables complete drainage and eliminates hold-up volume, improving product recovery and reducing waste.

The system is available as sterile or non-sterile to support both cleanroom integration and non-classified environments.

Applications in Bioprocessing and Fluid Management

The EZBio® Rigid Reservoir System is designed for compatibility with upstream and downstream operations across bioprocessing facilities, research labs, and industrial life sciences production.

Common use cases include:

Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF)

Serves as a feed, harvest, or collection reservoir for filtration systems.

Buffer and Media Storage

Suitable for storage of prepared buffers, media, or process fluids before use.

Sampling and Storage

Maintains sterile handling for QC sampling and intermediate storage.

Single-Use System Integration

Supports closed-loop, contamination-controlled workflows without cleaning and validation cycles.

Designed for Compliance and Operational Control

Each EZBio® Rigid Reservoir is manufactured from USP Class VI polypropylene components under strict quality control. The system is compatible with gamma irradiation, autoclave sterilization, and common cleanroom handling protocols, ensuring flexibility for validated production environments.

It offers a repeatable and predictable performance profile, giving operators full control of fluid transfer while eliminating contamination points and reducing time spent on post-use cleaning.

A Dependable Upgrade to Single-Use Reservoir Design

The EZBio® Rigid Reservoir System is built for processes that require reliable fluid control, secure port configurations, and full drainage. Its combination of rigidity, scalability, and VersaCap® connection flexibility makes it a practical alternative to stainless-steel vessels and soft-wall containers, especially in environments that rely on quick turnaround and contamination control.
