New Product Launch - PUREGRIP® Rhino Round Safety Coated Glass Bottles and Carboys

New Product Launch - PUREGRIP® Rhino Round Safety Coated Glass Bottles and Carboys

Glass bottles and carboys remain essential in laboratories for media storage, buffer mixing, reagent handling, and chemical transport. While glass offers clarity, cleanliness, and chemical compatibility, accidental breakage can result in hazardous spills and clean-up delays.

The PUREGRIP® Rhino Safety Coated Round Glass Bottles and Carboys from Foxx Life Sciences address this challenge by integrating borosilicate strength with a protective Rhino safety coating that contains fragments if breakage occurs. This coating helps prevent shattering and reduces chemical spill risk, supporting safe and uninterrupted workflows in research and biopharmaceutical environments.

What Is It?

The Rhino Safety Coated Glass Bottle and Carboy Series combines 3.3 borosilicate glass with a durable 0.3 to 0.5 micron safety coating to deliver long-term durability and improved lab safety. Unlike unprotected glassware, Rhino coated vessels prevent glass fragmentation from scattering when damaged, keeping contents contained and minimizing injury or contamination risk.

These vessels feature a wide size range from 100 mL up to 50 L, allowing consistent material usage across benchtop research, pilot-scale workflows, and large-volume storage.

Both clear and amber variants are available. Amber models provide UV light protection for sensitive buffers, media, and light-sensitive reagents.

Because these vessels are built for real laboratory conditions, every unit supports:

Autoclaving at 121°C for 20 minutes (15 PSI)

Refrigeration to –20°C

ISO 13485 manufacturing standards

USP Class VI polypropylene VersaCap® and Pouring Ring assemblies

Key Features and Benefits

  • Rhino Safety Coated Exterior- The protective coating ensures that if a vessel breaks, glass shards remain contained. This reduces spill spread, prevents injury, and allows for faster cleanup with less contamination risk.

  • 3.3 Borosilicate Glass Construction- Borosilicate glass provides excellent thermal shock resistance and chemical durability. It withstands aggressive solvents, strong media formulations, and repeated autoclave cycles without structural degradation.

  • Autoclavable and Cold Compatible- The safety coating tolerates standard sterilization and cold storage conditions, making the system suitable for sterile operations, media prep, and sample preservation.

  • PUREGRIP® Handling and Secure grasp® Cap Technology- The ergonomic PUREGRIP® body profile and Secure grasp® cap technology improve grip and reduce slip risk, especially when handled with gloves or wet surfaces.

  • White Graduations and Writing Area- Bottles include high-visibility graduations and a large marking field for labeling and sample tracking. A molded glass bead indicates maximum capacity.

  • Size and Format Flexibility- Standard formats include:

  • 100 mL to 2000 mL Rhino Bottles

  • 5 L, 10 L, 20 L and 50 L Carboys

  • Users may select clear or amber glass, depending on chemical stability requirements.

  • VersaCap® Integration- Each bottle and carboy includes a USP Class VI polypropylene VersaCap® with replaceable platinum-cured silicone gasket. VersaCap® supports interchangeable connectors, enabling sterile transfers, closed-loop systems, and controlled dispensing.
